The Ministry of Culture presents the initiative "The Power of Good Words" in Baní.
The Minister of Culture , Roberto Ángel Salcedo , presented the national initiative " The Power of Good Words " at the Perelló Cultural Center, as part of a tour of different provinces with the aim of promoting this proposal in different sectors of Dominican society.
Local authorities , representatives from the cultural sphere, educational institutions, and community organizations from the southern region participated in the event, where they learned about the campaign's objectives .
In his speech, Salcedo noted that the initiative seeks to promote a change in the way communication is carried out in the country.
He clarified that this is not a measure to impose rules or restrict expression, but rather an effort to encourage the conscious use of language, especially given the current context of polarization and widespread use of digital platforms.
The minister expressed his concern about the levels of confrontation present in daily communication. "We must lower the temperature of social language so that society can reduce its levels of aggression and violence," he stated.
" The power of good words " will be incorporated into the policies and activities of the Ministry of Culture , including the International Book Fair, theatre festivals and art biennials.
It will also be implemented in educational , business and community spaces, as part of an institutional responsibility program.
Further- With this presentation in Baní, the initiative continues its implementation nationwide , with the aim of promoting the responsible use of language as a means to strengthen coexistence and citizen participation.
